A journalistic jack of all trades, having turned his hand to television, radio and the print press, Michel Gardère now spends most of his time writing about food and about Gascony, his birthplace and home.
This province in south-western France is the ideal setting for him to pursue his passions in “good company” because they are always accompanied by “a good meal” concocted by himself.
Rugby, bullfighting, mushroom picking, wood-pigeon hunting (without guns), fishing for crayfish and conviviality are his “weaknesses” and “retreats”.
An eclectic writer, having authored some ten books about rugby, food, Gascony, the Cathars and other subjects, he has now written Ravigote, arsenic et vieilles soutanes (Agnès Viénot Éditions, May 2009). This novel is the first of a series of gastronomic-gascon thrillers, with an atypical "detective", the amazing and funny priest Rouncats.
Michel Gardère is finishing the following volume.
