Pedro Pérez Prieto, born in Navaescurial (Ávila) in 1953, is a graduate of Salamanca University in French and English.
He also has a degree in Spanish Philology through the U.N.E.D. He teaches English at I.E.S. Gregorio Marañón in Madrid.
In April 2007 , at the XVII Spanish and Portuguese Society for English Renaissance Studies (SEDERI) Conference, he presented his paper On Translating William Shakespeare’s Sonnets into Spanish, with Special Reference to Sonnet XX, and, in November 2006 he led a workshop on “Translating Poetry, Translating Shakespeare” at the XIV Literary Translation Conference organised by ACEtt (Tarazona).
His translation of William Shakespeare’s Sonnets into Spanish (Nivola, 2008) has won in 2009 the prestigious prize "Premio Esther Benítez de Traducción".
